A cinema from 1956

Verbier’s cinema was built in 1956 by the architect Alexandre Bujard. His son Pierre-Alex and Janine Bujard ran it for more than twenty-five years; since 1998, their eldest son — another Alexandre — has carried on the family tradition.

The cinema is independent and listed: the red seats, the big screen and the wooden wall lights are the ones the village has known for seventy years.

The programme brings together the latest releases — sometimes as Swiss previews — in the original version with subtitles or in French, along with a choice of films for all audiences.
